Ostrich SightingOur first animal sighting of the vacation is captured in this image. You can also see Gravel Road, located south of Windhoek (the capital of Namibia), in the shot.

Up Close and PersonalThis picture was taken at the Desert Rhino Camp. This was the first elephant we saw on our trip. We had been exploring dried up river beds all day and finally came across one! I would say we were only 25 feet away from this elephant.

Plus BabyLater on the same day we came across a few families of elephants. We saw almost fifteen while the sun was setting in the background. It was such a beautiful experience and I think this picture captured a really special moment.
-
Mad about StripesThis photo was also taken at the Desert Rhino Camp. Zebras are actually very skittish, so the fact that we got this picture was quite an accomplishment! They are beautiful animals and we saw many more after this first sighting!
-
Out in the WildThis photo was taken at the Ongava Game Preserve, located next to Etosha National Park. We were able to see cubs several times in this preserve. The cubs are used to seeing cars filled with people, so they came very close and their parents weren't overprotective.

Leader of the PackWe did get a close-up look at the male in this pack and father of the cubs. He was very laid-back and allowed us to get up close and take pictures. It was an amazing experience.

Road Less TraveledDuring our travels north of Swakpmund we spotted some ostriches in the distance. The mountains in the background created a beautiful moment.
Dana is a traffic coordinator at Torre Lazur McCann in Parsippany, New Jersey. She is currently transitioning into a graphic design position, an exciting move for someone with her creativity (just look at these photos!) In additional to traveling to Africa, Dana has been to Italy which she feels is equally amazing. She also loves the Mid-west, which she says is beautiful and peaceful.
