Plunge Too Much? The Golden Globes were full of red carpet statements, dress success, and "what was she thinking?" moments. Read on for our faves, flops and top trends.
Plunging Necklines:
It's obvious Mariah Carey has a look she sticks to - form fitting, low neckline, and one size too small! Halle Berry seemed to follow suit in this equally sexy dress that some of us loved and others thought was WAY too much!

Pastels PreferredHere are more of our faves and faux pas - pale gowns at the Golden Globes. Emily Blunt was perfect in a tulle and gathered gown (we love her accessory, fiance John Krasinski). On the other hand Nicole Kidman forgot her bra, and Kate Hudson looked a little too bridal, a little too much like she grabbed a sheet and ran. (However, some of our iMag style staff were pleased with Hudson). George Clooney's girlfriend, Elizabeth Canalis did little to impress and ruined all chances of a nod from our experts with that cheesy arm tattoo. GC, on the other hand, can do NO wrong!

Pastels Part DeuxCertainly the # 1 trend of choice was pastel hues, which we love! Shades of lavender, icy blues, sherberts and pale pinks were making us yearn for spring. However, not everyone was flawless. While Fergie looked fabulous, and Maggie Gyllenhaal made our top 5, Jen Garner was a bit boring and Elisabeth Moss looked just awful in her Grecian gown.

One Shouldered StarsA trend that just won't seem to go away, one shouldered styles were again a red carpet staple. While we normally love this look, we didn't see it worn to its full potential. Anna Kendrick's dress was a tad matronly, Drew Barrymore looked like something out of Avatar, and Jane Krakowski was forgettable.

Pretty in PurpleThe color of the night - purple in all shades rocked the red carpet. We loved Rose Byrne's elegant eggplant column with a hip broach, while Sandra Bullock's silhouette was pretty enough but the Easter cellophanish fabric was a no no. Alfre Woodward was fine, but it was Leona Lewis who won our purple prize. The shade was sensational!

Red Hot or Not?The jury was out on two of our favorite stars who wore red! While some of us loved Cameron Diaz's short sleeve style, others felt it didn't do justice to her normally knock out picks. And while our Style Guide host thought Zoe Saldana was perfection in a burgundy gown with ruffled layers reminiscent of vintage Chanel, some of her counterparts felt it was too fussy!

Ruffled UPRuffles were another trend we found worked on some and not on others. While Chloe Sevigny's dress had an ethereal sense about it, it lacked that "wow" factor. Christina Hendrick's gown looked a bit too snug and the color was too close to her hair. Diane Kruger however was phenomenal. The dress had that perfect balance of pretty, sexy, unexpected but elegant color, fabric and silhouette that landedher as one of our best dressed.

Worst DressedBoo! Some of our favorite stars disappointed us greatly this year! Julianne Moore looked dull and shapeless, Tina Fey looked like something out of the upcoming Alice in Wonderland flick, and Julia Roberts was way underdressed. While we believe in understated elegance, we'd wear that to work! Cher's done the black widow look before, and Christina A.- your style did nothing for you!

Black Over and Under DoneWhile we're always a fan of basic black, Jen Aniston has worn versions of this style one miliion times! The slit was amazing, don't get us wrong, but step out of your box, J. On the the other hand Lea Michele took her basic black too far and froofy. LM - it's your first award ceremony - go simple and elegant, not bridesmaid gone bad.

Black and BrilliantTwo of our favorites - January Jones looked as chic as ever, once again steered clear of anything that would remind us of her character Betty. The dress was different, the headband chic, and the red lips amazing! Our pick of the night was once again, Penelope Cruz. Looking elegant, sexy, gorgeous, amazing, beautiful, and perfect (should we go on?). This is the dress of the night! For more great style, click here!
