Tough CompetitionStepping out with a supermodel is no easy feat. But Michelle looked fabulous! At a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, Michelle held her own next France's First Lady, Carla Bruni in a white dress, 3/4 sleeve jacket, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Givenchy silver belt.

J. Crew FavoriteMichelle is definitely not a style snob! Showing her love for J. Crew last year, Michelle continued sporting styles from one of our favorite brands. Love her looks? Click below for similar finds.

MO Trend: Belted CardigansThe woman knows what she likes! Whether in yellow at a woman's health care event, argyle at a Girls' Mentoring Luncheon, or animal print at a leadership and mentoring initiative, Michelle chose cardigans and belted them! And she recycles - she wore this wide, black laser-cut belt several times this fall!

MO Trend: Basic BlackA little black dress, a pair of Jimmy Choos, and a fabulous clutch - Michelle loved this look this year. She even opted for this chic and sexy look at the year's Christmas party and in her official White House portrait. And of course she's now famous for showing off her cut arms. MO Trend: Long CoatsMichelle's single most worn look this year was definitely a long coat worn over a dress or skirt. From our favorite camel Narciso Rodriguez ensemble she wore the day before the Inauguration, to the famous Isabel Toledo combo she wore the day of, and of course more recently an orange belted coat to a trip to India, Michelle loves this look!

Casual ChicShe may be the First Lady, but she's still a mom. And with some time off this summer, Michelle went cas! She received some criticism for wearing shorts (we didn't see what the big deal was), but did look way cuter in a pretty sundress. Our favorite moment was when she hiked up her belt to show off her hula hooping when she hosted a "healthy kids fair" at the White House. For tips on getting your kids to eat healthy, click here.

Nobody's PerfectWell she's still human! Michelle made a few fashion faux pas that we couldn't ignore, a horrible ruffled sweater, a frumpy blue dress, and this patterned (un-flattering) mess. No worries, we're forgiving fashionistas!

All Dressed UpOur favorite Michelle moments were the ones when she got all dressed up! Our favorites? We loved her Jason Wu Inauguration gown, her Naeem Khan gold dress and shawl she wore when welcoming Prime Minister Manmohan, and her double strapped, pale blue Azzedine Alaia at the Nobel banquet. So glamorous!
