10 Old-School and Still Cool Celebrity Crushes

With all the celebrity heartbreak in the news this year (Tony and Jessica, Janet and Jermaine, and more and more Gosselin drama), we took an opportunity to remember celebrity love events that always, well, make us happy. Here's our list of old-school celebrity crushes that still make us blush and never go out of style.

Mario Lopez. Those dimples just never get old. This heartthrob, known for both his killer smile and his fantastic physique, went from Saved by the Bell to Dancing with the Stars to Broadway—clearly Slater's more than a pretty face. His own love life is notoriously dramatic, but who cares? We're not trying to date him ... we just want to watch.

New Kids On The Block. If we gave these guys each their own spot as they deserve on this list, they would only leave room for the other half of the 1980s. These days they're all either married with kids or taken, but they're still gorgeous guys and good men. Recently, Joey McIntyre announced that his wife is pregnant with their second son; meanwhile, we're still dying to catch them out on tour.

Drew Barrymore. Have you ever heard the woman talk? She's still such a doll. Granted there was a period in the late '80s where we kind of feared for her wellbeing, but thank heavens, she outgrew it. Her talent in recent challenging roles is only matched by her adorable and intelligent demeanor in interviews. Smart girls are hot.

Will Smith. You know those guys who look oh-kay, but as soon as they start talking they instantly turn irresistible because their personalities are so awesome? Will Smith is the quintessential first-impression-caterpillar-turned-social-butterfly, and we've been fans ever since the "Parents Just Don't Understand" era (yo, it was not that long ago...okay yeah it was). This week Jada announced that their sex life is almost too crazy to handle. Um, Jada? Chill. Even Will's more discreet than that.

Janet Jackson. Janet is emerging as the superstar in the saga of her brother Michael Jackson's death, especially as she copes with this week's split from Jermaine Dupri. Despite the toll the last these past few months have taken, Janet's still a stunner.

Brad Pitt. No, we would not leave him off. While there's no need to remind you of his current state of romantic affairs, remember when we were kids and he used to date Christina Applegate and Juliette Lewis? It's fantastic ... bit of a Hollywood social climber there, eh Brad?

Christina Applegate. Speaking of Kelly Bundy ... this one's another cutie. She may have had us convinced in the '80s that she was similar to her roles in Married With Children and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (oh, loved that movie), but her step in the spotlight more recently proves that wrong. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 but bravely beat it with a double-mastectomy. And courage, dear friends, equals sexiness.

Jon Bon Jovi. That moment when the "Livin' On A Prayer" video turned from black-and-white to color cemented it: this man is an all-time fave. Remember how he would strap himself in a harness and fly out over the crowd until you felt like you could touch him? Amazing. These days he's a longtime husband and devoted father of four, and while he and the band keep making music, his roles in the sports and charity worlds are what make him most awesome today. 

Paula Abdul. She made sixth-grade boys everywhere drool, even if they kept it secret. Among a sea of '90s diva singers, this woman could move. And even if she can be a little wacky, she's here to stay!

Madonna. When we were kids, she was girl-crush material at its finest. She's bold, beautiful, self-assured and socially aware—no wonder we all turned out so amazing by following her inspiration.
