Our favorite New Yorker from "The Real Housewives of New York City" and best-selling author of Naturally Thin stopped by recently to whip up some of her new (and delicious) recipes. We couldn’t resist asking her a few questions to find out how she's achieved culinary fame.

iMag: How did you become a celebrity chef and start your own business?

Bethenny: I cooked for a few celebrities and had been on Martha Stewart Apprentice, and I was able to leverage that into some notoriety. I have had my own businesses since the late 90s, whether it was event production, importing pashminas, or eventually cooking and baking. I have never liked working for two paychecks: mine and my bosses'.

iMag: What tips do you have for aspiring business owners?

Bethenny: Think big, but execute small. Having big ideas are great, but do one thing well and expand. Jump in and don't over think. Use your gut and if you know it's a good idea and you would buy it, use it or listen to it, then go for it.

iMag: You’ve written about work/life balance – what advice do you have on this topic for iMag viewers?

Bethenny: Sleeping and eating decently have to be a priority, so you can think clearly and feel well. Incorporate exercise, sex and of course love into your life. Nothing matters if you can't share it. You can't cuddle up to your bank account at night.

iMag: What was it like running a business and being a reality TV star?

Bethenny: It was fantastic. One hand washes the other. When shooting, it is utterly insane and overwhelming!

iMag: Did the show help your career?

Bethenny: More than anything in the world. When used properly, television is an incredible medium.

iMag: What career advice do you have for women?

Bethenny: Dream the impossible and don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you no.
