5 Growing Job Industries
Unemployment. The "U" word is plaguing thousands of hard working Americans. It seems just about everyone knows someone who has been laid off. Well we did some digging and found five fast growing industries that are hiring today.
Health Care: The number of people 65 and older is expected to increase to 46.4 million by 2016, from 35.6 million two years ago. The sector as a whole is projected to add 4 million jobs through 2016. This industry is growing fast, making it a hot market for the unemployed to explore.
Accounting: With the financial system in shambles, companies are cutting costs everywhere. They are also keeping a much closer watch on their funds, creating an indispensable need for an excellent accountant. Also, tax season is right around the corner, making auditing jobs abundant.
Education: With unemployment rates sky high, and little relief in sight, men and women young and old are returning to school. This rush opens up a variety of positions at educational facilities across the country.
Consulting: A bleak economy has left businesses small and large looking for guidance. As a result, companies in crisis utilize consultants, putting this high-paying gig in high demand. The BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) says this industry will increase to 1.6 million by 2016, up from 920,000 in 2006.
Sales: Even in a slump, companies need strong salesmen and women to persuade buyers and push their product. Sales positions aren’t for the faint of heart, but if you can sell, you can make big bucks, and job security is almost a guarantee.
