Get Your Best ClosetYou don't have to be a neat freak to have well organized closets! Follow these tips, pick up a "tool" or two, and you'll never have to search for a sweater again!

Create SpaceWhether you have tons of closet space, or your storage is limited, it never quite seems enough to fit all of your stuff.
Tip 1- Create space. Baskets and bins are great ways to add more room because they can be stacked atop one another. This is especially true for hall and linen closets where you tend to put your miscellaneous items.
Tip 2- Create categories. Say goodbye to junk drawers and closets full of random things that don't seem to have a place. Creating categories such as wrapping, tools, first aid, sports equipment, and toiletries is a great way to stay organized!

Basket BasicsAnother great way to separate items is using wicker baskets with cotton liners. These are great for storing accessories such as scarves and headbands, or hair supplies such as dryers, irons, and brushes. Baskets will also make your closet look pretty and are an alternative to a bureau if you can't fit one in your bedroom.
Our Fave: Bed Bath and Beyond 6 piece set for $59.99 (the hamper baskets are nice and deep)

Stylish StorageWho says all of your stuff should get hidden in the closet? Why not try using decorative storage in mud rooms, hallways, and entry areas. Benches with storage space are great for hats, gloves, boots, and umbrellas.

Stylish Storage Part IIPretty boxes are wonderful for negliges, mementos, or items that are out of season. Place them on higher shelves along with purses and bags that you don't use daily.
-
Color CodingThis may seem over the top, but we promise it will make your life so much easier. Keeping clothing of the same color together will let you navigate your wardrobe and remember what you have.
-
Together but SeparateAlways separate your shirts from your pants from your jackets. Again, this will allow you to choose an outfit quicker when you know where to find what you're looking for. Also, remove plastic bags from dry cleaned items unless you won't be wearing them until next season. Plastic makes it very difficult to see what's in your closet and it takes up unnecessary room.
-
Shoe NewsAvoid the urge to toss shoe bags and boxes. You can add three times the room in your closet by keeping some shoes in boxes and stacking them. This will also keep dress shoes clean!
