Designers' Favorites: Wall Color

From bright reds to subtle neutrals, designers share their favorite wall colors.

The mere act of picking wall color can drive you up a wall, especially if you have no idea where to start. Will your blue be too blue? Will that deep red end up looking like an eggplant exploded in your kitchen? It's tough to say, without any frame of reference. That's why we went to some of our favorite designers to get their go-to picks that continually impress.

Quick Tip

Declutter Little By Little: Pick any drawer or cabinet in your home and empty it out completely. Look at the contents and ask yourself these questions: Does it work? Have I used it within the last six months? Am I keeping it because I want to or because I'm afraid to let it go? Stretch yourself and make tough decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of. Then put the keepers back and enjoy the clutter-free zone.
